3-second answer: Sagging door = worn hinge pins and bushings (~$20 for both doors). Support the door, drive the old pins out, press in new bushings, grease and reinstall. The lower hinge takes the load — check it first.
The job
- Support the door (jack + block, or a friend).
- Remove the door panel? No — the hinges are on the jamb; you don't need the panel.
- Drive the old pins out (they're tapered, drift from below on the lower hinge).
- Press the new bushings in with a socket, grease liberally.
- Reinstall pins, align, torque the hinge bolts (door side first, then jamb).
Tools
- Hinge pin drift/punch + hammer
- Socket for the hinge bolts (usually 13mm or T-40 torx on later trucks)
- Grease (white lithium or the good stuff)
When it's NOT the pins
If the door still drops after new pins, check the hinge bolts — on OBS trucks the jamb-side bolts work loose and the hinge itself shifts. Also check the striker alignment before blaming the hinges.
