Then pop the panel up and out — it hangs on the window ledge, so lift UP first, then pull. The clips release with a firm tug at the bottom corners; a plastic trim tool beats a screwdriver every time.

- Door handle cup — pry the plastic cup off, one screw inside.
- Pull-cup (the handle recess) — one screw at the bottom.
- Armrest — one screw under the armrest pad (sometimes hidden).
- Speaker grille — pop it, one screw behind it on some models.
- That's it — the rest is clips around the perimeter + the window-ledge hook.
The trick
- The panel hooks over the top of the door shell (the window ledge). Lift the panel UP ~1/2 in to unhook it, THEN pull the bottom out.
- Clips: release from the bottom corners first, work up. A $5 plastic trim tool prevents the classic "panel now has 4 broken clips" outcome.
- Unplug the switches/actuator rods before you lift the panel away — the window crank and lock rods disconnect from the back.
Reinstall
Clips first (they snap into the door shell), then hook the top ledge, then screws. Panel should sit flush — if it bulges, a clip missed its hole.
